Why Children Beyond Poverty?

As a charity, we feel compelled by God to not solely focus on the problem (children living in poverty), but rather declare the outcome - we exist to empower children to rise beyond poverty. The Bible says in Ephesians 3:20 that God is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by His power within us. The reality is that, in light of global child poverty, what we do through our partners, may seem small - like bringing a bit of bread and fish to the table. However, we believe that with God's power within us, He can achieve far beyond what we can dream and hope for the vulnerable children we serve globally. We see and will continue to see children rise beyond poverty.

We serve

We serve our partners with pride and humility. While we don't claim heroism, we recognise our partners as true heroes. Our focus is on highlighting their efforts and dedication to assisting the children they serve.

We care because God cares

Everything we do as a charity is rooted in a sincere, God-given compassion for the least among us, as directed throughout the Bible. Through and with our partners, our efforts are consistently guided by Christian principles - the recipients are children, regardless of their background. We aim to express God's love both verbally, where appropriate, and through actions. We joyfully serve vulnerable children, through our partners, from all walks of life in their journey to rise beyond poverty.

We collaborate

As a charity, we solely endorse projects where we maintain a personal connection either directly or through a trusted third party. This commitment enhances our work ethics and relationships, providing an additional layer of accountability and bolstering our safeguarding measures. As a charity, we operate independently, devoid of denominational affiliations or exclusive organisational ties. We are open to collaboration and networking with any like-minded organisations. We firmly believe that together we can achieve more and make a greater impact for vulnerable children.

Our only politic: caring for children

Our foremost commitment is to the welfare of the most vulnerable children worldwide. Guided by this principle, and where legally feasible, we remain open to supporting children from any nation, background, or territory that meets our criteria. Furthermore, while prioritising the welfare of children, we may feel compelled to express concerns, sign petitions, or take action. However, it's important to clarify that such actions do not imply advocacy for any specific political parties or preferences.

Not woke, but awake

As a charity, we do not simply adhere to prevailing world trends, modes of thought, or popular culture. However, we possess the humility to evaluate ourselves in the context of God's word, contemporary global dynamics, and new HR guidelines. This approach ensures that we continually strive to be the best possible version of ourselves in our work and in serving the partners and children entrusted to us.

We speak highly of others

As a charity, we maintain a culture of speaking highly and positively about other charities, Churches and organisations. We actively encourage, endorse, and express gratitude for the work of other like-minded agencies. We view them not as competitors, but as esteemed partners in our global endeavor to reduce child poverty.

We are grassroots, yet well-structured

At CRY, we aim to uphold a direct approach to our work, ensuring that donations have a tangible and immediate impact in the nations we serve. However, we do so while maintaining a high level of organisation, compliance, and 100% transparency.

We work hard

We acknowledge the immense task of combating global poverty. Understanding that our charitable expenses are investments in the betterment of children, we take pride in our diligent work ethic. We strive to make the most of our time at work while also prioritising a healthy work-life balance.
