What do we love?
South Sudan is the world’s youngest country, yet is beautifully full of diversity in both its landscape and its people. It unites different groups of people through dance, music and storytelling passed down through generations, and is known for the resilience of its people.
What are the challenges?
South Sudan faces challenges of conflict and poverty simultaneously, seeing loss of life, displacement of children, poverty and starvation. Many communities lack basic healthcare, which leads to high rates of preventable diseases and child and maternal mortality. Many children there rely on international aid to survive.
What are our partners doing?
We work with Kuleu Lights Primary School, who provide education to children who cannot afford fees, clothing and essentials; many of which are entirely dependent on CRY donations. As well as providing the children with education and basic resources, the school focuses on shaping and mentoring them.
What can you do?
Both prayer and finance will go a long way to supporting this project and the children they are able to help. If you would like to give a donation, regular or one-off, click the donate button, and remember to Gift Aid if you can; it really helps.
