What we love?

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a country rich in cultural diversity, natural resources, and unique wildlife. One beautiful fact about the DRC is its stunning biodiversity. The country is home to a significant portion of Africa's tropical rainforests, including the second-largest contiguous tropical rainforest in the world after the Amazon. The DRC's natural beauty and biodiversity make it a truly special and important part of our global ecosystem.

What are the challenges?

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has been facing several crises, including political instability, armed conflict, and humanitarian challenges. Here's a summary of the ongoing crisis in the DRC. The ongoing conflict and insecurity have led to a severe humanitarian crisis in the DRC. Millions of people are internally displaced, and many more are in need of humanitarian assistance, including food, clean water, and healthcare. The situation is exacerbated by outbreaks of diseases like cholera, measles, and Ebola.

 What are our partners doing?

Through our partners (IDS), we are collaborating with a local school in Goma, North Kivu - situated at the epicentre of the crisis. Together, we are providing meals 4 times a week, for 45 internally displaced orphans living in one of the informal settlements. Many of the children we work with would faint during their lessons due to hunger.
