What we love?

Uganda holds a great deal of African beauty; it is one of the few countries where the savannahs of East Africa meet the forests of Central Africa. Over 50 Indigenous languages are spoken across the country, and a huge array of traditions are celebrated.

What are the challenges?

Uganda faces many threats, and is home to many villages where families have been displaced by hunger and violence. Many children are sick with malaria or have been affected by Ebola and are unable to attend school, many families have moved to poorer slum areas and many communities have been affected by destructive weather. This combination leaves some children at risk of child labour.

What are our partners doing?

We have partnered with Child of Hope, who deliver wrap-around health and welfare support services to enable children to attend nursery, primary and secondary schools; some from villages where families have fled.
