Its History

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests. You can find more about each of the 17 sustainable goals here.

How does CRY support these development goals?

Through our network of partners, we support various children's projects addressing some of the world's most pressing issues, in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In particular, CRY’s work is closely linked to the following UN Development Goals: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Reduced Inequalities, Climate Action, and Peace, Justice & Strong institutions.

You can find more information on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on their website.
