Meet our interns
Two years ago, we felt God leading us to start a gap year initiative for young adults. In faith, we advertised two positions for September 2024 — and now, that vision has become a reality. We are thrilled to introduce our first-ever CRY interns, Esther and Elizabeth! They will be serving with us and King’s Community Church, engaging in various volunteer opportunities, and working on some exciting projects. You can learn more about them below.
Esther Langmead
I am one of the very first interns at CRY. I’m so grateful to be a part of the team that helps children achieve their potential beyond poverty. Having just finished college and my A-levels, I’m looking forward to using the skills I have acquired to make a difference but also learning and having new experiences as part of the internship. One of my main focuses during the internship is how dance can be used as a form of therapy for girls that have suffered abuse and I will be implementing that when I go to volunteer at the projects CRY supports in Peru and Bolivia early next year. By the end of this internship, I hope to gain insight into different cultures, support CRY the best I can, and gain a stronger sense of God’s calling in my life. Afterward, I hope to study Law with Hispanic Law in order to advocate for those in the Hispanic world who can’t afford legal representation. I can’t wait to see how God uses me this year at CRY!

I wanted to do something with my gap year that would be insightful and allow me to serve others and grow as a Christian. Outside of this I spend a lot of my time reading. I am excited to understand how CRY works and see how their projects support children and the young and I can’t wait to see one of the projects in person.
