Urgent Appeal: Burkina Faso
UPDATE | FULLY FUNDED!
A week ago, we launched the following appeal. We are thrilled to announce that it has now been fully funded!
The appeal:
The situation in northern Burkina Faso is becoming increasingly dire, with terrorism escalating in villages, leading to kidnappings and the killing of vulnerable communities. As a result, many people are being forced to flee their homes. A significant number have sought refuge in the town of Dédougou, where we are actively supporting internally displaced communities.
In recent weeks, Dédougou has seen a surge of new arrivals, many of whom are in desperate need of assistance. Tragically, in their struggle to survive, many young girls have been forced into sex work.
In response, our team on the ground, in collaboration with CRY, is urgently developing a programme to support these girls. We are offering entrepreneurial workshops and vocational training to empower them to build their own businesses and secure a brighter future.
To continue this critical work, we need to purchase 10 sewing machines, each costing £100. Your donation can help sponsor one or more of these machines, making a direct impact on the lives of these young girls. If you're able to contribute, please consider making a donation here - If we raise more than what’s needed for the initial 10 machines, the extra funds will go towards continuing our feeding programme in Dedougou for internally displaced children.
